When you are creating an email in the system, you will be asked to send the email via Plain Text or HTML. Plain Text is selected by default. If you're already lost, let us explain a bit so you understand the difference between sending your email as Plain Text vs. HTML.

Plain Text: is regular text, with no formatting options such as bold, italics, underlines, or the ability to add images.

HTML: stands for HyperText Markup Language. It's the way web pages and email templates are coded so that text is formatted and images are added.

So with that being said, if you are sending an email with an image, you will want to use HTML.

Here are the steps:

  1. When you are in "EMAIL" and writing your message, make sure to select the HTML tab.
    • You will see an HTML editor popup, filled with a number of formatting options.
    • Here, you will want to select the image of a tree which is in the 2nd row under "Font Family". This is the "Insert/Edit Image" option.
  2. Select "Insert/Edit Image" and a new popup will appear.
  3. You will notice under the General tab it asks for an "Image URL". Copy the URL from the website of where the image lives. 
  4. Click "Insert".
    • Before clicking "Insert", you can adjust how your image will look in your email by changing the settings in "Appearance". But, if that's a little too technical, let us help!

**Please note: If you are sending an email from your phone, you can only send a Plain Text email. The reasoning is simple, from your phone making an email look great on all devices would be difficult. Thus, we only allow Plain Text so you can quickly communicate with your participants in case of an emergency. For best practices, you will want to create your HTML emails on a larger screen, such as a laptop or desktop computer.
